Racing finally underway in Porto Cervo

After two days of no sailing due to the big breeze, racing finally got underway today in Porto Cervo. Svea won the battle of the two J's by just 17 seconds after a 27 nautical miles clockwise circuit of La Maddalena isands in a modest 9-15kts westerly breeze. Svea started at the committee boat end of the line with Velsheda having a better timing to their left. Down the outside of the islands to Modici they were very close with Svea just ahead and Velsheda all the time trying to get on to their wind. The Swedish flagged team resisted and held out. The Swan 115 Moat won the J's Supermaxi class.
